Home to the world’s longest mountain range, the largest rainforest and the driest place on Earth, South America is a beautifully complex and endangered land. Extending from well north of the equator, through the heart of the tropics and well south to near Antarctica, South America’s diversity is grandiose indeed. Within the Amazon basin alone species biodiversity reaches the extreme.
